“The level of poverty and despair and yet remarkable human resistance here is astounding”

Orlando Bloom recently paid a sudden and covert visit to Bangladesh. The news was confirmed after coming across several posts that appeared on his official Facebook page. A source informed, the Pirates of the Carribean actor came to Bangladesh as a Unicef Goodwill Ambassador, visiting the country since last Monday.

Bloom has been working as a Unicef Goodwill Ambassador since 2009 and has worked for under-privileged children on various occasions. However, there is yet to be an announcement confirming the program for which he is visiting the country. A source revealed that the actor is meeting under-privileged children from different places of the country, listening to their stories and spending time with them.

The actor has been posting on Facebook about his journey,

Later, he posted a short video that features the actor hanging out with Bangladeshi children, with a caption,

#end of day one #bangladesh feel so #privileged #humbled #life #love #unicef #open to #all”

He then posted another picture of a Bangladeshi girl with the caption,

I like to think I’m well travelled…I know I’ve been blessed to see and witness much more than most for which I’m grateful…the level of poverty and despair and yet remarkable human resistance here is astounding…#bangladesh #love #life #open & #humbled by #unicef #all they do for the #children.”

On October 12, 2009, Bloom was named as a Unicef Goodwill Ambassador. Since then, he has been involved with the organization, visiting schools and villages in Nepal in support of sanitation and education programs.
